Expert Sprinkler, Drip Irrigation, Drainage & Landscape Lighting Services in Austin, TX
Top Sprinkler System Experts in Austin, TX
Many Austin, TX homes already have effective sprinkler systems. That doesn’t preclude the possibility of something going wrong in those systems. At Andy’s Sprinkler, Drainage, & Lighting, we repair existing sprinkler systems to handle water leaks, coverage problems, and anything else that will risk damage to your home or lawn.
There are some homes that don’t already have adequate irrigation systems. This can happen when you do a major landscape redesign. Maybe you wanted to add a pool or a hot tub. In any case, rerouting the sprinkler system is often necessary, and we can help you design and install the rerouted system.
When everything seems fine, then all you need is a little maintenance. With routine sprinkler system checkups, you can avoid catastrophic problems and enjoy peace of mind knowing that your system is in top shape.
Upgrade to Drip Irrigation
It’s never too late to improve water usage and efficiency at your Austin, TX house. An upgraded drip irrigation system can help you keep your plants properly watered without all the waste of older systems. Your drip irrigation won’t just save on water usage, it will also minimize soil and nutrient displacement. The result is healthier plants that cost less to maintain.
Drip irrigation systems are more accessible than you might expect. Because they work by bringing water as close to the plant roots as possible, they require less water pressure, and the materials for drip systems are often less pricey than high-pressure irrigation systems. At Andy’s Sprinkler, we encourage everyone to explore drip irrigation and see what it can offer to their outdoor space.
Expert Drainage Solutions in Austin
As much as sprinkler systems are great for delivering water, there is just as much need to remove water from areas. As experts in drainage solutions in the Austin area, Andy’s offers remedies to backups, clogs and insufficient draining. We regularly deal with the following common drain designs:
- Channel drains work a lot like gutters but for the ground. They can handle massive runoff and prevent pooling in areas where you don’t want it.
- French drains make use of existing slopes in the lawn to find and relieve areas where water is likely to pool.
- Catch basins provide larger runoff surfaces and a grate system to manage debris that gets swept up in runoff.
- Sump pumps provide a direct means to forcibly remove excess water where natural runoff might not be an option.
When we evaluate your landscape, we’ll help you assess which drainage technique is best suited and craft a plan to install it with minimal disruption.
Professionally-Installed Outdoor Lighting
Outdoor lighting is one of those areas where form and function meet. The right lighting can complete the aesthetic of a home, but it can’t come at the cost of functionality. The lights are there for visibility, and they are essential to safety and security.
Andy’s doesn’t just hang lights. We’re experts in landscape lighting design. We can help you craft a masterful lighting solution that marries beauty with efficiency. Once designed, our outdoor lighting installation crew will ensure that everything is installed properly at your Austin home, and our landscape lighting repair and maintenance services can keep you lighting in top shape for years to come.
It is through the three pillars of service that we provide total solutions to your lighting needs. Design with gusto. Install with expertise, and maintain with discipline. It’s how we guarantee that your outdoor lighting will remain impressive through the years.

Great Drainage Project Experience w/ Joe Stukey & Andy's
Stephen - Austin, TX
Joe Stukey and the team at Andy's who worked on our backyard drainage project were all exceptional to work with. Joe really understood our needs and was able to create a comprehensive plan. Joe and the team were always here when they said would be here, were great about updates and questions, were extremely respectful of our property, and were exceptionally professional throughout. This is our second project with Andy's (first project was the front year) and we had a great experience from start to finish on both projects with this team.
Mind = Blown. Twice.

Ok, you need to hear my experience of just how incredible these guys are— they went above and beyond. To start, I just bought my first house. There’s already an irrigation system setup, but it had a terrible Hunter X-Core controller (total POS, don’t buy one). I had already spent $200 getting the thing to work a few weeks ago from a competitor, and even they told me it was a terrible controller. Anyway, I accidentally broke the controller knob and this time decided to call Andy’s. I could have gone back to Hunter Sprinkler Services, but their technician was incredibly opinionated, blunt, and rude. I took a chance with Andy’s and BOY did it pay off. Cody and Ronaldo showed up, bright eyed and cheery, right on time. They took a look at the controller and told me what I essentially already knew: It was beyond repair. When Cody showed me their quote for a new controller my jaw dropped. I called their manager, Layne, to see if there was anything they could do to lower the price. Layne was kind, courteous, and inquisitive about my situation. I could tell he genuinely wanted to help; he was actively listening, and was ultimately able to drop the price a little. He explained that most of the price was in the labor cost (which ultimately paid back dividends; these guys were worth every penny). While Ronaldo got to work setting up the new controller (Rain Bird), Cody went around the yard looking for the various irrigation solenoid valves. I went back inside for a few minutes then came back outside. Rather than giving up Cody was still looking for the solenoids. I told him that the previous guy from HSS said I only had two zones, so there’d probably only be one solenoid. Cody said that didn’t quite add up, based on the number of wires Ronaldo was re-wiring from the older irrigation controller into the new one. I told Cody that the HSS technician mentioned as much, but that they were broken and it would be about $2,000 to fix the ones in the second zone. Cody just smiled and said something like, “Well, we’ll connect what we can and find out!” About ten minutes later Ronaldo finished, I showed Cody where the sole solenoid was (under a rock), and then Cody turned the system on. That’s when the first bit of magic happened. I had not one, not two, not three, but SIX zones! I had only ever seen one zone of sprinklers— about three of them— turn on. Lo and behold, I have something like thirteen sprinkler heads!! I’m 100% positive that the previous owner didn’t even know that, because there are permanent dirt patches on the front lawn in some of these zones. I had assumed they were from a lack of proper sprinkler-head placements. No, they simply weren’t hooked up to the Hunter X-core controller. The wires for the additional zones were tucked neatly under the controller, and the previous HSS technically didn’t do anything about it. Hah! As we walked around the house, with my mind completely blown from the amount of sprinklers I had never seen before, something else was blowing Cody’s mind: The water pressure. “Oh,” I told him, “Yeah, you should have been here a few weeks ago. I had a licensed plumber come out and adjust the water pressure, because apparently it was way too high on the inspection report.” Cody nodded politely, but I could tell he was still pretty concerned. “It was at 88psi before I moved in,” I told Cody, “But the guy that came out said he turned it down to about 50 before I moved in. I wasn’t home when he said he came by and adjusted the pressure.”... So what did Codey do? He checked my water pressure. What did it register at? 88psi— we had caught my previous plumber in a complete lie!! It registered at 122 without the irrigation system on, and 88 with it on. I was dumbfounded. That was now TWO different businesses that had taken advantage of me, a new homeowner, and then there was Cody and Ronaldo. Honest and kind. True to their words. They blew my mind today, twice.... So that’s my story! If you want a professional, courteous, kind, all-around excellent experience, go with these guys. You WON’T regret it.
Fantastic, friendly service. Highly recommended!

I had a laundry list of questions and drainage and sprinkler-related tasks. Matt and Lane patiently listened, answered all of my questions, and made thoughtful long and short-term recommendations on how to proceed. I received much more from their visit than my bill would suggest, and I look forward to setting up another appointment with them for the new year. Friendly, knowledgeable, and honest. Can’t recommend them highly enough!

Andy’s is my only Sprinkler Company❣️❣️Always prompt and great service!!!!
Ganne - Austin, TX
The unit had gotten on the wrong watering day due to loss of electricity. I also wanted some of sprinkler heads changed out to taller ones. Making the appointment for a quick and convenient time was easy. Cavin and Hector came today. Both were very professional. Both listened carefully to my concerns, gave cost amounts, then immediately fixed all areas plus taught me how to reprogram the unit if necessary.... following those directions, although clearly written, may be too much of a challenge. I will always contact the company for any and all work to be done. Another great and successful job done by Andy’s two employees Cavin and Hector!!!

Luis & Adrian were great! I had requested a text before they were to arrive & they did text & showed up as scheduled. Both were professional & courteous. It had been a few years since my sprinkler system had a thorough checkup. Luis walked me through each zone, and explained & showed me what he adjusted in each zone. I knew I had some waste/overspray, so I was very happy that he was able to adjust the smaller grass strip sections so waste/overspray was minimized. He also reprogrammed my control panel to the best settings. Thank you! I would highly recommend Andy’s. As I stated, Louis & Adrian were great. I will definitely use them in the future.
Installation of a drainage system below a new patio/pool deck. Roof gutter downspouts, area drains, and a channel drain was connected to the 6” SDR35 drainage trunk line. Core drilled holes for discharge through the retaining wall.
Replaced older model Hunter controller with a Rainbird MSE indoor controller. After installation, I went through each zone to make sure system ran properly. All zones function and operate properly with little to no water waste.
Point of Connection repair to return water back to her house and system.
Replacing 4” heads with 6” heads for better coverage
Customer called for system check because she thought some zones were not working. When we arrived we checked the system and found there were multiple programs in the controller which may have been why she couldn’t get some of the zones on. We found a few leaking heads and had to change zone 10 valve because it would not open fully. We tested system over again once complete and set controller.
Jason called because he had bought the house recently and wanted to make sure the system was buttoned up as well as learn as much as he could about it. We located backflow and checked the system. We found the system to be a little aged but functioned normally. There were a few heads that were stopped up completely that we changed out as well as a few heads we changed out to 12 inch heads to improve coverage due to the plants outgrowing the heads. Once work was complete we checked entire system over again to check for any leaks.
Mrs. Mattson called because she had a few heads leaking. We checked system extremely thoroughly and replaced anything that was leaking or was old enough that it would leak in the near future. All rotors that hadnt been changed out in the past were all changed. There were a couple 4 inch heads that we needed to change to 6" heads for coverage. And added risers in the beds to ensure all the plants were getting water.
